Mohammed Emwazi 'was quiet and reasonably hard working'

Jo Shuter, the former headteacher of Mohammed Emwazi, has described him as a "quiet, reasonably hard working young person" who had caring responsibilities outside of school.

Shuter who was headteacher of Quintin Kynaston academy between 2002 and 2013 added that though Emwazi had suffered bullying and had had some 'adolescent issues' he developed as a pupil.

By the sixth form, she said, he was 'an aspirational young man who went on to the university he wanted to go to'.

Shuter added Emwazi wasn't 'a particularly sociable young man' who 'didn't have a huge group of friends'.
