Labour's former director of communications Alastair Campbell has described David Cameron's offer to take part in just one TV election debate as "morally cowardly and democratically wrong".

The Prime minister David Cameron has made what he calls his 'final offer' to the broadcasters trying to stage televisied election debates.

He'll take part in one, but only if it includes all other party leaders, at least six of them in addition to him, and it it happens before the campaign proper begins next month.

Downing Sreett says the broadcaster's plans are chaotic; for their part, the 大象传媒, ITV, Sky and channel 4 now have to decide whether to go ahead their plans without the presence of the leader of the Conservative Party. It's possible that there wont be any debates at all
