MSF on ‘Ebola-proof’ tablet

Medics battling Ebola in West Africa have struggled to record details of their patients' condition - because of the protective clothing they have to wear.

Instead they had to shout information to another colleague outside the secure zone for them to record it.

To solve the problem a group of volunteers have developed a tablet computer that can be dropped in chlorine to sterilise it; and that can be charged by being placed on a table.

Ivan Gayton is a field worker with Medecins Sans Frontieres who advises them on technology, and explains how the 'Ebola-proof' device works.
