Its feared that dozens of jobs could go at Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service as union leaders warn that the service could become the first in the country to introduce compulsory redundancies. It's thought 17 full-time posts will be lost, as well as a dozen on-call positions, following a decision to approve plans to reduce the size of crews in the county from 5 down to 4 to save almost 7 hundred thousand pounds. Leicester scientists say the shorter you are, the more likely you are to get heart disease!
