Rick Edwards: 'I support compulsory voting for 1st time voters'
The broadcaster Rick Edwards said he supports the proposal that voting should be compulsory for young voters.
Mr Edwards, author of None of the Above said "a really radical solution like compulsory voting" is required to encourage young people to vote.
The centre-left think tank, the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) is proposing the idea that person's first vote is compulsory and are also calling for the option 'none of the above' is added to the ballot paper.
Michael Yip, a student at Warwick University and Durr E Maknoon Tariq, a student at Kings College London spoke to Sarah Montague.
