AP McCoy: 鈥淚鈥檝e been very lucky"
AP McCoy will retire immediately if he wins this weekend's Grand National. It would be only his second Grand National win.
AP鈥檚 record-breaking career has brought a total of more than 4,300 victories despite a heavy toll of broken bones and a punishing diet to keep his weight down.
On announcing his decision to retire if he wins at Aintree, McCoy told the programme:
鈥淚鈥檝e had a lot of regrets, it鈥檚 the only thing in my life that I鈥檝e ever had any regret about鈥.
As he approaches the end of his career, AP added: 鈥淚鈥檝e been very lucky since I announced my retirement鈥 I鈥檝e been able to go racing the next day and the day after, I鈥檓 still getting that little buzz鈥t鈥檚 going to be very different when it all comes to an end and how I cope or how I鈥檓 going to deal with that I don鈥檛 know鈥.
