Mercedes-Benz CEO, SA: 'We do good business in S Africa'
South Africa's car industry is a major slice of the country's economy and nearly all the big global motor companies have assembly plants there.
The winner of this year's World Car of the Year - the Mercedes C Class - is only assembled in four places in the world: the US, Germany, China and South Africa.
But the big companies also worry about South Africa's energy problems and restless labour force.
The 大象传媒鈥檚 Lerato Mbele sat down with Arno Van Der Merwe, chief executive of Mercedes-Benz South Africa, and asked him if the recent xenophobic attacks there add an additional challenge to the country鈥檚 motor industry.
