Nepal: "I've never been as close to death"
大象传媒 producer Thomas Martienssen had been working in Nepal on a mountaineering project. He had just climbed from base camp on Everest to camp one and, exhausted from the ascent, was going to bed in his tent when the ground began to move.
"Three of the tallest mountains in the world and they are all throwing ice at you" he said.
Thomas had worked in environments where he has come close to being shot and been very close to explosions, but had never felt this close to death.
He said "we had consoled ourselves with the fact that we were going to die."
