A woman from Leicestershire who had a stroke at the age of 14 says the mental problems she suffered as a result been more difficult to deal with then the physical ones. This comes as a new report from the Stroke Association reveals that the number of women in the East Midlands aged between 40 and 54 having strokes has rocketed by almost a third in eight years. It seems like only five minutes ago - but it's now SIX weeks since people on Leicester's Golden Mile saw the grand unveiling of multi-million pound improvements. It was the culmination of over a YEAR of roadworks - and a project which was at times criticised due to a series of delays. Instead of the flyover there is now a new road system, more greenery, 80 new car parking spaces and new cycle lanes. Vandals on a Leicester estate have been making life a misery for an elderly lady for the past eighteen months. They're regularly damaging the front garden wall belonging to 93 year old Winnie Moon from New Parks. It's left her feeling frightened - BUT today, she has a smile on her face.
