Syria conflict: Journalist on barrel bomb that killed children
Zaina Erhaim, in Aleppo, is the Syria project coordinator for the international NGO, the Institute for War and Peace Reporting.
She told Martha Kearney about a particularly shocking barrel bomb attack on Sunday 3 May.
Amnesty has strongly condemned the government's reliance on barrel bombs, large canisters packed with explosives and scrap metal, against rebel-held neighbourhoods in Aleppo.
It claims that the bomb attacks killed more than 3,000 civilians in the Aleppo area last year, and more than 11,000 in the country since 2012.
President Assad, the Syrian leader claimed that his military didn't need to use them.
