Prosthetic, Ladybird and Defibrillators
Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.
It's not very often that someone receives a new hand in the post. But that's exactly what happened to a young boy from Thurmaston last week. Seven-year-old, Millergan Lowe, was born with amniotic band syndrome, which meant the fingers on his left hand didn't develop properly. But after a social media plea, an American company got in touch with his family and offered to make him a bionic hand using a 3D printer. If you've visited Charnwood museum in Loughborough recently you may have noticed a few changes. The old section which told the history of Ladybird books has been renovated and extended - you may have heard my report a couple of weeks ago about a talking chair bedecked in Ladybird fabric which forms the centrepiece of the exhibition but there are other new additions too. Every secondary school in Leicester should now have access to a defibrillator thanks to an organisation in the County.
