L谩szl贸 Krasznahorkai wins Man Booker International Prize
The Hungarian writer L谩szl贸 Krasznahorkai has been announced as the winner of the sixth Man Booker International Prize. Worth 拢60,000, the prize is awarded every two years for an achievement in fiction on the world stage. As the author of books such as Satantango and The Melancholy of Resistance, he has been described as "visionary" and judges praised the extraordinary intensity of his work. Newsday's Nkem Ifejika spoke to Mr Krasznahorkai after the award ceremony at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
