End-of-life care: it鈥檚 'not all doom and gloom'
70-year-old Jose Ayres has terminal lung cancer and has been told she has only 3 to 4 months to live.
A report from the Parliamentary and Health Ombudsman says end-of-life care could be improved.
The report found some patients were spending their last days in unnecessary pain and many were wrongly being denied their wish to die at home.
Jose said she gets a lot of support from her husband, David, but the NHS could "do more to promote" the work of charities like Sue Ryder and Macmillan, because it helps to be with "people in the same position as you".
She attends a Sue Ryder day hospice and says 鈥渁ctually, you have a lot of fun, believe it or not 鈥 it鈥檚 not all doom and gloom鈥.
