Apathy amongst young voters

In this controversial clip, the presenter Jolyon Rubinstein considers why so many young people are disengaged from mainstream politics and vote in low numbers. The constituency where Nigel Farage is campaigning in 2015 is visited. Vox pop is taken to establish voter awareness of politicians compared to celebrities. Relatively little is known about party politics. The Scottish devolution debate is used to suggest that when a clear outcome is identified the younger voters will be engaged.
Please note this is a controversial series and teacher review is recommended before use in class as there is strong language, scenes of antisocial behaviour and potential political leanings.
