Dunkirk veteran returns to beach for 75th anniversary
Every morning when I wake up I see the beaches, says 94-year-old veteran Arthur Taylor.
Arthur (centre) returned to the beach with his comrades James Baynes (left) and Michael Bentall (right) to mark the 75th anniversary of their rescue from Dunkirk - an experience Arthur describes as "quite thrilling".
He said the beaches no longer bear resemblance to his memories "I was on the beaches for 16 hours queueing to get onto the East Mole...got onto my little ship, the Lord Grey, I was number 163 and the Royal Navy officer said that's enough for a fishing trawler, back to Dover and take the lads with you".
