Zeppelin L-9 was spotted by intercepted wireless traffic 100 miles away from Hull, over the North Sea.
2130
Major General Ferrier, commander of the Humber Defences, ordered all lights in the city to be extinguished.
2345
L-9 was spotted above Hedon.
2346
The first bomb fell from the L-9 airship, onto Hull.
It signalled the beginning of an attack that would drop 40 bombs, kill 25 people, injure a further 40 and destroy dozens of buildings.

The last bomb dropped fell on Humber Dock, hitting the cargo ship 'Crocus'
