Is Science Sexist?
Female scientists talk about whether science is inherently sexist. A prominent British biochemist sparked the debate after talking about his problems with women colleagues.
Female scientists have taken to social media to comment on Sir Tim Hunt’s sexist comments at a conference in South Korea. The British Nobel laureate said ‘ three things happen when women are in the lab: you fall in love with them, they fall in love with you, and when you criticise them they cry'. So is science inherently sexist? What is it like for women making careers in different scientific fields? And, do powerful women in science treat younger female colleagues any differently to men? We hear a global conversation between women in science. (Pic ´óÏó´«Ã½)
