Ruby volunteers at the Machan Trust, near Glasgow, who focus on making life better for children in the area and is funded by Children in Need.

Ruby is 90 and when her husband passed away 14 years ago, Martha the Volunteer Co-ordinator asked her if she鈥檇 like to help out at the Machan Trust by sending out birthday cards to all the children. She writes them all by hand, and delivers them to their front door on their special day. To date, she鈥檚 written over 300 cards. 鈥淚鈥檓 certainly happy I was part of it, it just brought me back to normal.鈥�
