It was yet another busy week of music and interviews on Lauren’s show. On Monday we were joined by Afrobeat pioneer, Tony Allen, who played us tracks from his new album, Film of Life, and told us about listening to the jazz greats, working with Fela Kuti, and being able to play a different rhythm with each limb on his body. On Thursday, Gaz Coombes dropped in and performed two cuts from new album, Matador. He spoke about cutting his teeth at Glasto '95 with Supergrass, moving home to Oxford, and having to reconsider his long-held conviction that he’s a ‘dropout’. On Friday, Empire Magazine’s Chris Hewitt showed up to talk Star Wars in the wake of the film’s tantalising trailer release. He also reviewed new flicks, Child 44 and A Little Chaos.
