Mum 'will stay away from buses' after copper coins dispute
A mum ordered off a bus because she was trying to pay 25p of her fare in coppers says she will probably "stay away from buses altogether" in future.
Laura Pulley offered the driver the money in one and two pences - but he refused to accept it - which he is entitled to by law. When she refused to get off, the driver called the police, who eventually resolved the dispute.
"I don't know who had upset him that day but I obviously got the brunt of it," said Pulley.
"I received a letter today, [the bus company] say they genuinely apologise for the incident. The driver has confirmed after reflection the incident could have been handled better and he would like the opportunity to apologise personally to me," she added.
