Astronomer Dr. David Whitehouse says "it's hard to put in to words" why astronomical events like summer solstice matter so much to people.
Thousands of people gathered at Stonehenge to mark the longest day of the year.
"Somehow, there's a catch in the voice, a halt in the breath when you see something bigger and more eternal than ones self".
