Survival expert's top 3 tips for staying alive in the jungle
A survival expert has revealed his top tips for staying alive in the Colombian jungle after a young mother and her baby were found alive there - five days after their plane crashed.
Maria Nelly Murillo and her one year-old son were found in Choco province, where Ed Stafford holds the world record for the longest jungle expedition.
"You've got to find water," said Stafford. "Then again it's the wettest place in the world. So they're going to have to take a risk that they're drinking contaminated water but in a survival scenario you would wouldn't you?"
"Food is less of a priority. Shelter is probably the biggest one - even though it's equatorial tropical areas they could go down with hypothermia quite easily if they get really wet," he added.
