Antony Jenkins: Africa's entrepreneurial energy needs to be harnessed
Over the past few weeks, there has been much talk about how to take the African growth story forward. Leading business figures at the World Economic Forum on Africa were quoted saying that digging holes in the ground and shipping stuff out - only to re-import finished goods - was no longer a viable option.
Trade issues came under the spotlight at the meeting of the African Union and moves towards a potentially huge African free trade area were launched in Egypt. But considerable hurdles remain.
The 大象传媒's Matthew Davies caught up with Antony Jenkins, the global chief executive of Barclays, at the recent World Economic Forum on Africa and began by asking him about how to make banking and finance more accessible across the continent.
