Hear the first chapter of Death and the Penguin, by Andrey Kurkov - read by 大象传媒 Russian's Oleg Antonenko. Here, Kurkov sets the scene for the novel - called a black comedy or post-Soviet satire by some critics - with Viktor, an aspiring writer whose only companion is Misha, his pet penguin.
