Greece Submits New Plan
The Greek government delivered its new proposals for a bailout package. The deal looks like more austerity is ahead for the Greek people - with tax hikes to come.
The Greek government has delivered its new proposals for a bailout package. It happened ahead of deadlines on Thursday night. The deal would appear to outline more austerity, in fact, than the package that was rejected by Greeks in the referendum last Sunday. We hear from Aristides Hatzis of the University of Athens and Professor Richard Parker at Harvard - who was an economic advisor to a previous Greek government. Also in the programme, organic farming in China - details from guest Shi Yan, Director of Shared Harvest. And Alison Van Diggelen, host of Fresh Dialogues, based in Silicon Valley, tells Fergus Nicoll about the continuing problems with drought in California.
