Jeremy Hutchinson on Lady Chatterley's Lover at the Charleston Festival
Jeremy Hutchinson recounts one of the most significant cases in his distinguished career as a barrister.
The successful acquittal of Penguin, the publishers of Lady Chatterley鈥檚 Lover, under the Obscene Publications Act 1959, was seen as a watershed moment and a triumph for literary freedom in Britain.
The QC was joined on stage at the Charleston Book Festival in East Sussex on 17 May 2015 by Helena Kennedy and the writer of his memoir, Thomas Grant, as he revealed the key moments in the case.
