Suchet: Wilde's Lady Bracknell is 'nouveau riche'
Best known for his role as Belgian detective Hercules Poirot, actor David Suchet has returned to the stage 鈥 this time dressed in drag 鈥 as Oscar Wilde鈥檚 Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest.
He told the 大象传媒鈥檚 Andrew Marr how, although he had seen the play many times, he took a fresh look at the script that came through his letterbox. 鈥淚 read it as though I was reading it for the first time,鈥 he said.
鈥淟ady Bracknell is nouveau riche鈥 and I鈥檇 never seen that before.鈥
The Importance of Being Earnest is on at the Vaudeville Theatre, London until 7 November 2015.
