Can vaccinating badgers prevent TB in cows?

More than 1,800 of the country's beef and dairy herds were recorded as having new infections of TB in the first four months of 2015.

More than 11,000 cattle were compulsorily slaughtered. Badgers are thought to spread the disease, but the culls so far have not proved effective, and now experts are trying vaccination as an alternative.

Our science editor Tom Feilden spent the night catching and vaccinating badgers with the Zoological Society of London's professor Rosie Woodroffe, and the project's coordinator Seth Jackson, near Land's End in Cornwall.
