Is Taleban Leader Mullah Omar Dead?
Papua New Guinea asylum centre abuse, Microsoft launches Windows 10, secret life of ants
Two weeks ago, Taleban leader Mullah Omar gave his backing to peace talks with the Afghan government, in a statement issued in his name. Sources now say he's been dead for two or three years. The Afghan government says it is investigating the reports. We hear from our Kabul bureau chief. Meanwhile, in Pakistan, the detained leader of the outlawed Sunni militant group, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has been shot dead in an exchange of fire during an apparent attempt to free him. We go to Islamabad for the details. Also in the programme: police in Papua New Guinea say they will arrest the managers of an Australian offshore detention centre for asylum seekers, unless three Australian staff accused of rape are returned to the country. #windows10 is the top trend in the UK as Microsoft's new version of it's operating system is released. Our technology reporter speaks to Microsoft chief Satya Nadella. A new video has been released of Sandra Bland, the African American woman found dead in her prison cell after being detained for a minor traffic violation. And ... the life of ants: not so hard-working after all...
