What Next for Mozambique?

Mozambique is one of Africa’s fastest growing economies, our reporter Tony Bonsignore presents a live programme from the country.

A special programme from Mozambique – can one of Africa’s fastest growing economies stave off political instability and corruption? Tony Bonsignore has been speaking to people about their changing aspirations and hopes for full employment. We hear from José Forjaz, a world-renowned architect and a key member of Mozambique's first independent government who is hugely critical of the country’s current leadership and the widening gap between rich and poor. The Minister of Trade and Industry Max Tonela responds, explaining what they are doing to encourage business and fight corruption. Earlier this week President Obama unveiled an ambitious plan to tackle climate change, aiming to cut carbon emissions in the US by 32 percent over the next 15 years. But faced with strong opposition from Republicans, we ask Professor Irwin Stelzer from the Hudson Institute how likely it is that the plan will ever come to fruition? And the ´óÏó´«Ã½â€™s North America Technology reporter Dave Lee is at the Defcon security conference in Las Vegas finding out about the latest hacking trends.
