Records tumble as England look set to regain Ashes
Stuart Broad claimed 8-15 as Australia were bowled out for 60 in just 111 balls – the shortest first innings by any team in any Test in the sport’s history. Batting second, England were in the lead before 3pm as Yorkshire duo Joe Root (124*) and Jonny Bairstow (74) shared a fourth wicket stand of 173 to put the hosts in a wonderful position to earn the victory they need to reclaim the Ashes.
