Richmond Pensioner John Young is preparing to tackle the Great North Run to raise money for the organisation which saved his life.

Seventy-year-old John, who lives at Gilling West, is in training for the half marathon with his wife Sue.

Seven years ago John survived the onset of prostate cancer and on Sunday he'll be running to raise money for the charity which effectively saved his life.
