The humble beginnings of Nakumatt
If you're in a big town in Kenya and indeed, throughout East Africa, the chances are the local supermarket will be a Nakumatt.
Started by the Shah family almost 30 years ago in the Kenyan town of Nakuru, the company now has 40 stores in the region and is taking on the likes of Shoprite and Walmart.
It remains a family business, headed up by Atul Shah, one of Kenya's richest men.
The 大象传媒鈥檚 Lerato Mbele sat down with him and asked him how the business grew from humble beginnings.
