My Beautiful Palazzo by David Willey: Italy 2009
There is a famous ancient piece of advice – When in Rome, do as the Romans do. But many modern Romans live in the kind of drab uninspiring suburbs to be found in any urban area. But some still have homes in the centre of the city which are steeped in its more glorious past. And David Willey did what those Romans do.
For many years he lived in a remarkable, centuries-old 1,000 room palazzo in the heart of the Eternal City. But this chapter of his life in Rome came to an end and with real sadness, he prepared to move out.
