How can we start faster in a race? Nina and her experimenters investigate reaction times in the lab, and find out why practice is so important.
How can we start faster in a race? Nina and her experimenters investigate this in the lab, with help from Belle the Hearing Neuron. They discover what "reaction times", are and why it's important to have a very fast reaction time when you hear the signal to start the race. Nina explains why practice can really help with this. After a run about in the park, the experimenters return with another question about jumping - "how can we jump further?". This time, they learn about momentum, and why a run-up to the jump can help you travel much further through the air.
