Nick is a plasterer who cares about two things in his life - his mates and his football. Then he meets Karen, a trainee hotel manager and they start to fall in love. He can't believe his luck. But just when they're both wondering if this is the real thing, Nick's life is thrown into confusion. He starts to have accidents at work, he loses his place on the football team, and his relationship with Karen is about to be severely tested.
