Stravinsky - Octet

How Igor Stravisky's Octet was inspired by a dream he had

How Igor Stravisky's Octet was inspired by a dream he had. The 60 minute piece has a sonata form and both theme and variation structures. It starts with four woodwind instruments and was composed after the composer had a dream of including a trombone and bassoon. The use of these would traditionally have drowned out the use of a flute and the other quieter woodwind instruments.
