Autism, my app and me
Bethan Jones, 16, has Asperger鈥檚 Syndrome and was struggling to cope at school.
She tells 大象传媒 Radio 5 live about a new application called Brain In Hand which helps her to manage her stress and anxiety, and stops her from 鈥榣osing it鈥 in school.
The app has a traffic light system which allows her to reach out to her support worker or her Mum if she needs help. She says: 鈥淕reen means I鈥檓 OK, Orange means I鈥檓 not OK but I鈥檒l be alright, and red means I鈥檝e completely blown it and somebody will phone me and make sure I鈥檓 OK.鈥
Bethan thinks the app has helped her to sit her GCSE鈥檚 this year, and she鈥檚 now studying child development at college. Her support worker Chloe Jones says she鈥檚 doing really well and only had to press the 鈥榬ed鈥 emergency button once recently: when popstar Zayn Malik left One Direction.
