Is the Trans-Pacific Free Trade Deal a Good Thing?
The world's biggest ever trade deal has been signed into existence. The Trans-Pacific Partnership cuts trade tariffs and sets common standards in trade for 12 Pacific rim countries, including the US and Japan. Forty per cent of the global economy will be organised into one massive free-trade zone. Supporters say it could be worth billions of dollars to the countries involved but critics say it was negotiated in secret and is biased towards corporations. David Kuo of Motley Fool, Singapore and activist Jose Martin, New York discuss whether the TPP is a good thing.
