Mark Kermode reviews Suffragette. The story of the foot soldiers involved in the suffragette movement of the early-20th century. Maud, a young, working mother, is swept up and radicalized into violence, having seen peaceful protest achieve nothing. As the women of the suffragette movement become increasingly angry and violent, so the State becomes increasingly brutal in its efforts to stop them.
