The health issues emerging from Russia following the break up of the Soviet Union. In 1988 Russia was becoming reborn. Today the failure of hopes is manifest in health matters: the population of Russia is 3 million less than a decade ago. Loss of jobs has resulted in alcoholism and death in men of working age.
