Promising medical use of new steel coating
Medical tools made from steel are one of the most promising areas of application for this new material as it repels blood and bacteria. Scientists from the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) deverloped this new surface coating, made from rough nanoporous tungsten oxide. This durable anti-fouling and anti-corrosive material is capable of repelling any kind of liquid even after sustaining intense structural abuse.
