5 live has been given exclusive access to a clinic helping children who have suffered a particularly horrific form of abuse. It's called FGM - that's female genital mutilation. Next week, a new law relating to FGM comes in, which will affect teachers, doctors and nurses. They will have to tell police if they have seen or been told that a girl under 18 has been subjected to it.
5 live Daily was given exclusive access to the UK's first ever FGM clinic for children at University College Hospital in London. In its first 12 months it has identified and treated 18 cases. We sent FGM survivor Hibo Wadere to the clinic to find out more about their work. She was a six year old in Somalia when she was a victim of FGM. Celia Jeffreys is a former midwife - she's now leading a new initiative to teach medics, teachers and social workers what to look out for.
