January 24th 1978... A wednesday... 36 years in business and still bucking trends at every turn.
Gordon Hayes says ten years ago you couldn't give vinyl records away but now his stock has reverted to 95% vinyl and only 5% now Cd's.
Things have been more than tough over the years for the people who sell music. Digital downloads had the record business thinking things had changed forever but actually there's been so much of a revival in vinyl that failing stores are now seeing big upturns in sales.
Gordon runs Nervous Records in Hinckley, set back from a busy road, a small house whose front lawn has been replaced with boxes, grass replaced by vinyl vying to be bought...
