Sounds of the year: Singing seals
Wildlife sound recordist Chris Watson - best known for his work with David Attenborough - picks his highlights from a year of recording all over the world.
He tells Paddy O'Connell that his favourite sound - one to which he returns repeatedly - is the sound of grey seals singing on the island of Lindisfarne.
"I'm convinced that these are haunting siren voices, the songs of mermaids that lured sailors onto the rocks centuries ago," he says.
