It's known as the time for festive cheer, but hundreds of shop workers across Leicestershire are bracing themselves for a busy and often highly stressful Christmas season.

Just as the majority of us are looking forward to being with family and friends, hundreds of shop assistants are dreading the long hours, sale preparations, and dealings with panicked customers.

It's a major operation.
