Attitudes to disability

Dr Chetna Kang and Louisa Peacock take the temperature of public attitudes to disability.

In July last year the Department for Work and Pensions reported 70% or Brits thought attitudes to disabled people have improved since the olympics.

But research for the disability charity Scope shows 62 per cent of disabled people are treated differently because they are disabled.

So as we start the new year, isn't it time we changed our attitude to people with disabilities?

This week we'll meet people whose attitudes towards disability have changed radically. And we'll hear from those who think attitudes have got worse and not better.
