Snibston, School Traffic & A New National Anthem

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

Campaigners fighting to save Snibston Discovery museum have been dealt another blow, with the news that a smaller mining museum won't be built as planned. Last summer the doors finally closed on the family attraction in Coalville, with the county council saying it could no longer afford the hundred of thousands of pounds in subsidies. Instead, they said they would create a smaller museum to recognise the town's mining heritage - but following a budget meeting this week, that too has now been axed. 大象传媒 Radio Leicester's Jo Hollis is in Coalville this morning.
Also, a headteacher in Leicester has accused some parents at her school of putting childrens' lives at risk. Inderjit Sandhu runs Launde Primary School in Oadby, and says the school entrance becomes so congested during rush hour - it's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt. She's told 大象传媒 Radio Leicester that - despite several warnings - a number of parents have become abusive when asked to move their cars from outside the gates. Local residents have also reported parents parking repeatedly across their driveways. 大象传媒 Radio Leicester's Christian Hill has been to the school to speak to Inderjit.
And, is it time England had its own national anthem? Currently "god save the queen" is sung before big sporting events, but MPs will today be debating whether England should have it's own anthem - like Scotland and Wales. 大象传媒 Radio Leicester's Jack Rafferty has been asking people in Castle Gardens what they would choose, and we hear from the MP for Chesterfield, Toby Perkins, who is leading the debate in Westminster.
