Uber's Chief Adviser reveals commuter app

David Plouffe said Uber is testing ways to pick up passengers on the way to work in China and the US.

He explained that 'over a million cars come into the centre of London everyday. Almost all those cars have only one person in them'.

Uber's goal is to change perceptions and behaviours - "In my generation, your entire social life revolved round the car; now it revolves around smartphones". He added, "it has to be as easy to get an Uber as it is to pick up your own keys and start your car. If it's not you're never going to switch".

The company has come under attack for not being regulated like other transport services, nor being responsible for its drivers.
