A50 Roadworks Continue

If you regularly travel in or out of Leicester from the North West of the city and county - you'll be more than familiar with the roadworks on the A50 - one of our busiest commuter routes.

Well now the holidays are over, work continues from today on those improvements to the A50 - between the A46 Western Bypass and the A563 outer ring road.

The project has cost eight and a half million pounds - and it's hoped by widdening and adding additional lanes it will reduce the bottlenecks and deal with the future growth expected in north west Leicestershire.

Radio Leicester's Nisha Chopra has been to Glenfield to speak to people living in the area about the ongoing works. She started by speaking to Ann Curruthers the Assistant Highways Director at Leicestershire County Council.
